Biography
Natasha Avendaño García is an economist from the Universidad de Los Andes. She has three master's degrees; one in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley; another in Economics from the Universidad de Los Andes and one in International Taxation, Foreign Trade and Customs from the Externado University. She also holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley with an emphasis on taxation.
Avendaño García has extensive professional experience. Between 2018 and 2022 he served as Superintendent of Residential Public Utilities. She was also Director of Organizational Management of the Directorate of National Taxes and Customs (DIAN), where she also worked as Deputy Director of Operational Analysis and Advisor of the entity. For seven years she served as an advisor to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, as part of the Directorate of Macroeconomic Policy and the Technical Vice Ministry. Between 2022 and 2023 she was an Expert Commissioner of the Regulatory Agency of Energy and Gas - CREG. Since January 5, 2024, he has served as CEO of the Bogota Water and Sewerage Company EAAB-ESP, the most important provider of drinking water and sanitation services in Colombia.
