My name is Margarida Costa, I am 25 years old, and I work as an R&D + Innovation (Research, Development, and Innovation) technician at Águas do Tejo Atlântico. the biggest wastewater utility in Portugal.

At Águas do Tejo Atlântico, my role in RDI involves identifying opportunities for research and development projects, as well as managing and monitoring their implementation. Our goal is to develop innovative solutions in the field of sanitation, including the production of water for reuse and other valuable by-products from wastewater treatment. Through these initiatives, we aim to improve processes and enhance resource efficiency.

I hold a degree in Environmental Engineering – Sanitary Profile from NOVA School of Science and Technology (NOVA-FCT). During my academic journey, I gained experience in water and waste management and treatment, as well as expertise in sanitary hydraulics and water resources management.

Passionate about sustainability and innovation, I am committed to contributing to a more efficient and circular approach to water management.
