Biography
Jayne Beckmann is a Process Engineer at the New York City Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Wastewater Treatment. She is a young professional, with over six years of industry experience in this field. Ms. Beckmann began her career in Regulatory Compliance and Strategy where she focused on current and future regulations, mandated deliverables, and managed multimillion dollar projects. As a process engineer, Ms. Beckmann has delt with multiple, complex facilities with High-Rate Activated Sludge, Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR), dewatering, and sidestream treatment. These Wastewater Resource Recovery Facilities (WRRFs) have ranged in dry weather capacity from 60 – 275 MGD. Ms. Beckmann has spearheaded multiple optimization efforts, focusing on outcomes that promote environmental stewardship. She is actively involved in multiple research and development projects focusing on disinfection technologies, solids handling, sidestream treatment, and BNR. Ms. Beckmann holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Bucknell University, a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University at Buffalo, and is a licensed NYS 4A Wastewater Operator.
