Biography
Dr.-Ing. Christoph Schwaller is a Chemical Engineer and Water Technology Specialist at Linde Engineering, where he works on improving industrial water systems and supporting sustainable pathways within the energy transition. His current focus includes developing ultra‑pure water solutions for green hydrogen electrolysis, advancing Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and Minimum Liquid Discharge (MLD) concepts, and contributing to water‑related aspects of industrial decarbonization.
Christoph is also involved in the design and conceptualization of condensate treatment systems for carbon capture projects, helping ensure reliable and efficient water handling within CCU applications. In the cement sector in particular, he supports process concepts that integrate water and carbon management to enable more sustainable operations.
Before joining Linde, Christoph worked at Rambøll, where he supported water market development and advised industrial clients on integrated water management, water reuse, and advanced treatment technologies. Prior to that, he spent five years at the Technical University of Munich, conducting research on advanced wastewater treatment and large‑scale water reuse as part of industry‑oriented innovation projects.
Christoph has international field experience and has authored several peer‑reviewed publications. He contributes to professional networks including DWA and DECHEMA, and is committed to developing practical, robust water solutions that help industries move toward more resource‑efficient and low‑carbon operations.
