Biography
Mr. Neukrug. P.E. is the former CEO and Water Commissioner of Philadelphia Water, USA, a water, wastewater, and stormwater utility serving 2.3 million people. In 2016, he was named Professor of Global Water Practices at the University of Pennsylvania and the founding director of the Water Center at Penn, an applied water research and policy center that aims to integrate innovative urban water system solutions that support local utility resilience, sustainability, and climate adaptation – with a lens toward affordability, equity, and justice. He teaches courses on the "Global Water Industry in the 21st Century" and "Urban Water Policies and Practices for a Changing Climate."
Mr. Neukrug is also the founding chair of the Delaware River Basin's Advisory Committee on Climate Change and the Leading Utilities of the World (LOUW) Network, an international organization of 75 of the world’s leading water and wastewater utility CEOs. Its members represent the gold standard of utility innovation and performance throughout the developed world's water sector.
