Biography
Frank was raised in Brussels, under the sign of Pisces - and has not left water since. After studying Environmental Engineering in Germany and the US, he started his career at the Research Center of Compagnie Generale des Eaux (now Veolia) in Paris, and was sent to NYC in the mid-nineties to help with technology transfer after the acquisition of Metcalf&Eddy. Later he spent 4 years in Sao Paulo for Severn Trent Services, before moving to London to lead the Global Process Group of Black&Veatch with projects in Asia, Americas, Middle East and UK. Since 2008, he has been working for aqualia out of Madrid, building the company´s innovation portofolio in smart solutions, sustainable services and resource recovery, and participating in more than 20 consortia in the Horizon programmes of the EU or 15 LIFE projects, from www.All-gas.eu to www.lifeZerowastewater.com , including Microbial Desalination or Brine Mining with Sea4value . Frank was included in the GWI Water Technology Power list of people who make a difference in innovation, and has contributed to 15 patents and 60 articles with at least 10 citations.
