Metito Utilities
Biography
Rami Ghandour founded Metito Utilities in 2007, positioning the company as a global investor, developer, and operator of sustainable water and wastewater management solutions across emerging markets. Under his leadership, the company has successfully developed and managed more than 35 water and wastewater concessions, pioneering first-of-kind public-private partnerships (PPP) in the water sector across ten countries including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Rwanda, Serbia, and Qatar.
His focus has been on advancing effective PPP models that strengthen collaboration between public and private entities - particularly in emerging markets, where Metito Utilities delivers sustainable and locally tailored water and wastewater solutions that ensure reliable service while addressing urgent water challenges. Through these efforts, the company has supported public sector partners in closing infrastructure gaps and mobilising long-term capital.
As a strategic leader, Rami has positioned Metito Utilities as a trusted partner to utilities, public authorities and impact-driven investors, promoting scalable models that integrate commercial performance with long-term development outcomes, particularly in water-stressed and rapidly growing economies.
Prior to the establishment of Metito Utilities, Rami held roles in process engineering and project management at Bechtel in London, and as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group in New York.
Rami holds an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School, and MEng, MA, and BA degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
