Sandy Fabritz has lead efforts in water supply management for over 30 years, working with policy and elected leaders at the local, State and Federal levels on drought management, Tribal Water Settlements, groundwater management, surface water litigation, and Colorado River issues in the southwest United States. For the past thirteen years, Sandy has served as the Director of Water Strategy for Freeport-McMoRan, protecting the company’s water rights and water supplies through the development of water acquisition and mitigation alternatives and water supply sustainability strategies across the company’s portfolio. Sandy has put significant efforts into developing strategies to mitigate climate and drought risks, not only to water supplies across Freeport’s global assets, but for the communities and natural systems that surround Freeport’s operations.
